B. susanne

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Susane just opened her first bud in the greenhouse. I brushed some B. peanut pollen onto her stamen, so I sure hope it takes.

Jackie

Tulsa, OK(Zone 7a)

sure is lovely..

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

the pinkish flower is Alamanda 'cherries Jubilee' and the white flowers are dbl. white freesia.

'Peanut' is having a little pre-spring winter flush. I wasnt carefull with the blooms this time...just ripped them open to pollinate. She is still pretty all messed up.

She is still lovely Delisa.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Amazing for this time of year, Delisa. Still so pink and so many. I hope all of them take for you too. Soon we will be swimming in double pinks! LOL

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Delisa, now you have a "Shredded Double Pink" lol.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Susie! So true!!!!
Because Patrica pollinated her Susanne, I ran out and had to pollinate mine too with Peanut also. LOL!! I can't wait to see if they all take. We need a Pink Peanut Pollination Party. Say that 3 times fast. LOL

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I don't have Peanut, will Creamsickle work?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

YES!! Turns out Cream sickle is a hot little Momma. Perhaps a hot little Poppa too! Makes colored doubles!! Even mothered a seedling that sported a new variegated. I hope lots of people use Cream sickle this summer and lets see what she is capable of!!! Funny how all this time we had a colored double maker right here and we did not know it!!

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Delisa and Patricia, Both are just beautiful. Kell, I agree lets have a Pink Peanut Pollination Party.

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

I will be using Creamsickle this summer Kell. I am saving the rest of my peanut pollen for Creamsickle and and Golden Lady. Does anyone know which yellow brug. as produced a dbl. yellow which crossed with a dbl. white or creamsickle or goldenlady ?

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Boy !! I sure made a mess out of that last post.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Listen, rumor has it that if you cross a double to a double you get a lot of deformed blooming plants though you sure could hit the jackpot. You might want to use your Peanut pollen on a pink that has pink parents. I have been using my double pink pollen on seedlings that have double pink parents but they are single. But what do I know.

You know Creamsickle X Rosamond produced a double pink from some of Kristi's seeds. Kay grew it out for her and it is just fantastic. You might want to put some DP on Rosamond.

I think I used Golden Lady X Jesse Noel to get my mini double yellow Patricia. I am not 100% sure though.

How about Dr. Suess Kell, has that produced any dbl. yellows used on goldenlady or creamsickle. I think I have some Jesse Noel and Dr. suess pollen.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I am not so into the yellows. I used CG once or twice and got whites but I can't remember who the partner was. I can't remember if I ever had Dr. Seuss. Too much like CG. I got rid of Whiskers after a year, too many mites.

I used L'A on Creamsickle and I got a lovely apricot. Butterfly can give yellows also.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

I am reading and reading. Hope to understand how to make a double orange! Gave HG away, wouldn't bloom.

Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Gloria I have a double seedling that I grew out for Pete that is Creamsickle X Dorthea that had a tiny bit of color this past fall. She just bloomed in the gh and the two blooms were large white and then turned and a lovely orange. I just hope that the color will stay orange in following flushes, but will see.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Just goes to show, might get a dbl. orange from dbl. x Pink. I have a bunch of seedlings, HG x ? and Crmsickle x pinks. Also have the good deep orange bloom, Whiskers x Bert, and a GL x Bert, that bloomed white first time. ggrrrr........

Can't wait for summer!

Mc Call Creek, MS

Delisa, I hope that one stays orange! Mary & Brenda just got a beautiful orange double. We really need some more of those.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I agree, a good double orange, or a large double yellow would be good.
Kell, that little mini one is gorgeous!

We really didn't mean to hijack your thread Patricia.

We are all brug lovers and sometimes just get carried away

Love your Susanne bloom.

No problem here, I have enjoyed reading the entire thread.
