Unusal Vine Seed

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

I am looking for some of the more unusual vines seed. I have tried to find seed of Garlic Vine and Lily Vine. I am sure these are not the same plant. I don't have a clue about the seed of this or if the seed readily so any advice would be welcomed.
Does anyone have seed of these to trade. I have Japanese Morning Glory and Dutchman pipe to trade if your intrested.

How did you get your dutchman's pipe to reseed? I have Aristolochia durior, which is covered with unusual flowers, but I never get seeds.

I am wanting to find a red hyacinth bean seed or cutting or plant if anyone might have one of those......as well as seed to snail vine, butterfly vine, bow tie vine, redbird vine and others that are just as unusal....

I got it on the first one Donna it was just devine..........I just love the flowers on this.

There is a feed store down from me that has this in the ground but none for sale. Last fall it was just full of blooms and so pretty. The owner knew what it was since his mother had planted it a couple of years before she passed and he kept up with the names of all the plants she had. She had some Roses that are just the best i have seen. He said he uses the manur from the chickens they sell for fertilizer and uses nothing else. He puts it on every spring and then no more until the next year. Wow does that stuff do the trick. I told him I would buy what he dosen't use.....LOL
And he said me and everyone else.........LOL....said he already sells it and just dosen't have enough to keep up for everyone. And all the bottoms of those pens were clean....
I do know that chicken manure is very HOT and you have to be careful or you can really burn stuff up with it. My Grandmother used it in her flower beds and garden and she had some nice flowers. To bad I don't have access to chickens.....

Sorry Vicki there is only one Garlic Vine plant that I am getting rid of. It survived Hurricane Katrina. I am still recovering from major back surgery in May and can no longer handle all the tropicals I once had. Unfortunately most of what I wanted to keep floated off or died and the plants I had already decided I was going to get rid of survied and stayed put lol. It is a good size rootball and doing well but not a lot of new growth for me to share a cutting of before shipping to Dee. Maybe by the end of summer it will be big enough for Dee to share if she wants to.

I do want to swap the seeds and as I said I have a couple of other vine seeds I can tuck in your envie. Will get out in the mail on Monday

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

I will do all I can to get this up and going. If it does well and I can cut it up to share next spring I surly will and I will come back to this thread and pick up the names of you as you asked...........
I will post here when it is ready to share....
Donna have you ever tried to root any of the shoots??
If so let me know how you did it and I will see if I can get some more starts to share. And yes I will take any vine seed you have. I am going to concentrate on growing some of the more unusual vines and try and get some to share with other to.
I am just starting the smaller Dutchmans pipe and that is another one that is hard to find and much sought after.
Thanks again

Dee
