I have a mass confusion going on in the greenhouse. Everybody thinks it's spring. I have blooming cobea scandens, blooming brugmansias, lots of them. all the scented geraniums are blooming, and things are growing by leaps and bounds. I couldn't ask for a more beautiful picture.
We're having a very mild winter, and it really shows in the greenhouse, I have to open it daily to keep it from getting past 90 in there. Since I heat with wood heat, I keep wood in the greenhouse stove during the day, because it's more trouble to build a fire than to keep it going. And it gets hot in there in the day time.
Everything is so confused in the greenhouse
WOW Kathy, how beautiful!!!
Thank you so much.
I haven't been spending much time out there, and I really need to, cause things are growing and I'm not getting to witness it.

If you have cobea blooming you should be happy and jumping for joy! (Outside the g-house, in our area, they take almost all summer and nearly into Fall before they start blooming!) I'd say you must be in heaven!
Congrats on your flowering plants! I know you must be enjoying it! Yay!
Yes I am, Thanks Shoe.
wow! you must love it in there, id spend all my time in there if i could, simply wonderful.
I do, it's kind of like a home away from home, when I want peace and quiet I go there. I wish I had more time lately to enjoy it more.

How do you find the wood stove works for you ?
I was thinking about putting one in my Greenhouse. I am in the planning stages at this point, over in the Memphis TN (Similar climate I would imagine, although I am not sure where Judsonia is).
Currently planning and laying out a 10x20 lean to on the back side of my home. Since I have a 30 acre horse farm that I am clearing a small section of woods on I have/will have plenty of wood. In fact to my wife's dismay I refuse to heat the house above 58 except in the room with a fireplace. It stays 70 with the fire going.
What size wood stove, what size greenhouse, and how do you like it? Thanks for the time,
Matthew
HI Mathew. First off, Your gonna freeze that wife of yours out of your home!!!!!!!
That's freezing LOL. It's a cozy 78 to 80 degrees in my home year around most of the time. I can't stand it any colder in the summer or winter.
The greenhouse is l6 x 30. and the stove is off in a seperate room, I'll go snap some shots of where the stove is. We have a fan above the stove that sucks the air to this pipe and out into the center of the greenhouse. and we have a regular fan in the room with the stove that blows the heat. OUr coldest night has been say l2 last year, and it kept it say around 50 degrees in there. The stove is a King stove. It was a freeby, I hear their good stoves though. WE burn anything in the stove, but Cedar and Gum, we don't normally burn pine either. So far most of our wood's been free this year, My husband is a subcontractor and is always getting firtst dibs on trees on lots that have to be cut down so we go cut the wood all through the year.
Do you live close to memphis? that is 2 hrs from us. weather is usually the same for both of our areas.
I'll see if I can't get some pictures of the stove area in the greenhouse and post them here today.

And one more, front view of the greenhouse , th'at s the sophie cecile begonia in front, and charles grimaldi brugmansia, that vine off to the left is the mexican flame vine. I'm trying to train it to go onto the trellis above.
My son recently moved the hole pot and pulled all the vines off the trellis part so he could have more room for the wood. Guess who got in trouble !!!!!!!! LOL
