Wow! 8ft. huh? If you cut those back they will bush out more. My red double is huge! It is a small tree now...and has been cut back sooo many times. In fact, I HAVE to cut it back in the fall to bring it inside. Quite a prolific grower!

Yes it will bush out the more it's pruned,but I'm growing this as a standard,it has a 4 ft wide head on it now,which is about where I'll keep it at.
Well its ok just to think spring just don't say it too loud!!!LOL
