been arguing with ebay seller...says selling a strep donated by member of avsa in denver..and selling for them to give money towards the 2007 convention there....problem to my thinking was that seller wanted 9.95 for shipping which i thought was wrong...(most do 7.95 at most)...he wrote back saying increases etc..and that he was making 50 cents on shipping..and that i didn't have to bid...he he...
think i'm testy today..lol

Yeah, you've always got to watch those shipping charges... There's no rule on eBay that a seller can't charge $100 for shipping in a $4.85 priority mail box.
I have an occasional "testy" day too, LOL!

Well Bob, I don't make money on shipping. The actual shipping will be about $6, plus a $2.00 heat pack and insulation runs about $1.00 per box. Ok, maybe I make .50 on the shipping. If you don't want to pay the shipping then don't bid. Have a nice day

There are lots of things on eBay I would buy if shipping weren't so much. I know postage is expensive, but some people charge way too much. I had a lady admit to me last year that postage is where she makes her money. I told her it was more than I could afford, but since I was buying several things from her, she cut shipping charges in half. It was still a couple more dollars than actual shipping, but much more affordable than what it would have been. I think some people don't post shipping charges in hopes that someone will win their auction, then have no choice but to pay sky-high postage prices.
Well look what does Jack charge $ 4.95 to ship a plant and buy ten ship free. Smart people are going to buy more. But 9.50 for shipping one plant then extra for heat pack WOW.
One of my nurse posted she had to put shipping up beacasue Ebay's fees went up and they kicked her off Ebay. And she wrote them and said sorry she did not know....Lot's of sellers put shipping up to cover Ebay fees, Pay Pal ( gosh on $15.00 Ebay takes like 74 cents. ..So they get Ebay listing fee, final fee and pay pal fee...hard to make money.
But I feel Shipping and handling should cover any handling cost heat packs, insulation and so on but shipping does not mean pay for listing fees...
Some people say they add those fees into their auction like if they were going to sell something for $3.00 they'd sell it for $4.50 .... but keep shipping normal fair rate.

eBay is always upping their fees. And with their acquisition of PayPal some time ago, that really boosted their profits. They get money from us every which way we turn.
