Precinct 2 Harris County Master Gardeners Plant Sale
Thanks Txflowerlady for the info. I hope to see you there.
Patti in ( Clear lake)
Patti,
Hope to see you there also. Pray for a nice day.

Is this the same group that usually has their sales at the Methodist church in Clear Lake every year?
One word of caution (ok, more than one word, lol): I heard Heidi Sheesley of Treesearch last Sunday at Arbor Gate's Fruit Tree sale. By the time she's finished, you'll wish you could plant an orchard!
I got a Meyer Lemon. Do you have anything in particular in mind?
Sunnytx,
Yes, this is the same group that usually has it's sale at the Methodist Church in Clear Lake. Hope you will be able to make it this year. This year it will be under a palilion - no standing in the rain waiting to pay for your plants. If you were at last year's spring sale you know what I mean.
maggiemoo,
I've heard Heidi Sheesley before and she is great. I'm mainly interested in the tomatoes and peppers, but a pomegranate or an avocado might find it's way into my wagon.
On an off note - a sales person at a feed store told me how great Ag-Org was, but I wanted to research it more on the internet before purchasing it. I did a google search and I must have spelled it wrong, because I wasn't able to find it. Then, that very day I read one of your replys to a thread on one of Dave's Garden's forums. You were going on about how great At-Org was and you gave the website. After your comments and reading about it on their webside I'm going to try it out this year. Thanks, txflowerlady
Oh, good! I think you'll really like the Ag-Org, I know the soil does. :-) I use it on averything that grows, except for the cats.
I bought a dwarf pomagranate last year, to grow in a pot. At Heidi's talk I found out how to get all those tiny juice sacs to seperate. She said to cut the fruit in half - sideways, not top to bottom - and then soak them in water. The juice sacs will just seperate on their own!
We have the Galveston County Master Gardeners tree sale this Saturday. I work that one and plan on getting a Buddha's Hand, a pear tree, some grapes, and another grapefruit tree. I love going to the Precinct 2 sale because of all the tomatoes and vegetable plants they have. Also I found out Heidi has something she brings special to each plant sale. So what one plant sale has the next plant sale may not. I was hoping to pick up some tomatoes now and put them in early this year. I can protect them from the frost/freeze if we get one. My peppers from last year are still producing.
maggiemoo: I agree with the word of caution. I have two acres and Heidi has ended up suppling a ton of those plants, both trees as while as plants.
sunnytx, where is Galveston County's Master Gardener sale going to be held? What else will you have other than trees?
txflowerlady: It will be held in La Marque at Carbide Park, 4102 FM 519. Heidi's seminar starts at 8am and the tree sale is from 9am to 1pm. They will have grapes and blackberries to. Lots of citrus trees you can put in ground or keep in a pot.
I hope to see you all at the Clear Lake sale. I can't make it the Galveston Master Gardener sale. :o(

Just a reminder - the Precinct 2 Harris County Master Gardeners Association's fruit tree, tomato and pepper sale is next Saturday, February 25. The sale will be under a pavilion so no getting wet if it rains. Plus, starting at 10:30 am James' Bar-B-Que will be selling, what else, Bar-B-Que.
You can go to our website http://hcmgap2.tamu.edu/sales.htm and download a catalog of the plants that are being offered. Get there early for the best selections.
Hope you will be able to come.
txflowerlady
if you can go to this sale or any other in which treesearch is involved, please do. fantastic value for your money.
vossner,
Thanks for the plug - this will be last treesearch fruit tree sale for this season. Not only are the prices good, the trees are for this area. (Greater Houston area.)
