as long as there is plenty of light and the temps are around 70 they will bloom in winter, these are in a greenhouse.

Eclipse., that Vulcan is one beautiful! Are those hardy, and how do you get them? Thanks, Krispi

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

these are all tropical ones, I haven't seen Vulcan listed at any growers, we got the original plant about 25 years ago from a Greenhouse back East. I keep it going by new cuttings every so often.

Hi Eclipse, thanks for the reply, would love a cutting if you would not mind, looks like you certainly know what you are doing. I had bought a beautiful Burgandy/Mauve colored one from some people at the Gruene Mkt, Days, this past summer, and 2 days later, it was completely dead, as was the dark purple Passion Vine! I still don't understand what happened, it was as if they were programmed to last only 2 days. We have to water our plants daily, because of the constant wind on our porch. I don't even know the name of the plants, no tags or anything, just that it was a hardy Hibiscus. Thanks, Krispi

Eclipse, lovely Vulcan and gorgeous greenhouse. It's a shame commercials don't sell it.
Do you let me to send the picture to other hibiscus forums? Maybe some growers could be interested in growing it ... again.

Regards

Carlos
