Wonderful shots! The tiny buds look like little pearls!!!

Very pretty! It seems like many people this year are able to get their hoyas blooming inside! OT, Carol I love your article in the Fraterna. You know I try any advice you give me. I'll keep in mind not to throw them out in the winter and hope for a resurgence, lol!

Mark - amazing pictures and I am also green with envy!! Karen

Just found this tiniest ever new peduncle today on Hoya aff. globulosa (sold by Alohahoya as globulosa, later de-identified by same). See it there just inside the left leaf? The leaf in the bacground belongs to the same plant.

I've had new growth on my globulosa too that I thought was a peduncle and it looked just like in your photo, but it turned out (in my case) to be "just" a new vine.

Here's a cute peduncle for you. It's from H. schneei.

Any updates on your peduncles Mark?

San Francisco, CA

Probably next week for new photos, Tami. Lacunosa should begin opening then, and mindorensis is still going strong, starting to look like an exploding firework. BSI-1 x aus dropped it's buds just after it started getting those funky leaves again. It's getting located nearer and nearer to the compost heap...

Here is the progress of H.mindorensis:

Here is lacunosa, probably just a few days to go:
the flower buds are not exactly in focus, but I sort of liked this picture better than the focused one.

I've got some updates, here is hoya cv. noelle, grown under lights, with western sun. The flowers are already closing, they lasted only a couple of days.

This picture is from my pubicalyx, unknown species.

Great!!! Love seeing the updates. Can't wait to see them fully opened.

Heather is it normal for for that hoya to drop it flowers in two days? What a bummer. Your pubiclyx is going to be pretty.

Can't wait to see H. mindorensis.

Mark where in the heck is the photo you posted of a couple of hoya's that were in front of your window. They were placed in something like a indoor plant box. I have to check that out and I can't find it. Psst. if you have a photo with a better view of it, they would be cool.. Hint Hint....

I just saw that photo. Is this the one you mean?: http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=2040335

Tami, the plants are actually sitting on an ikea shelf that is laid on the floor in front of the window. The black ledge is actually the back of the couch. You can see the plants, but the plastic pots are hidden from view. Here is another angle, with the couch pulled out a bit.

This is another recycled furniture picture. This case is from a thrift store, probably originally a display case in some kind of retail store.

Thanks Christina thats it.. Couldn't find it for the life of me.

Well what a good idea a indoor plant box would be though. I was looking on the internet early this morning for some idea's. If it was completly contained you could add some pebbles and water and put your plants in there, and the tall ones wouldn't tip. My brains are working on this one..

Nice little hot house for your babies too. I'm going to start hanging out at habitat for humanity and the Goodwill store.

Thanks for pictures. Like your bunnies too!!

Hey Tami, I just started another post with noelle pics. I don't think they were very normal. Too close to the plant light. I think it almost burnt them out. The new pics are sooo much better, enjoy!!

This is the second attempt for Lasiantha. The first peduncle blasted on me, and then this new one formed. It looks much larger and stronger than the first one. This will be it's first time blooming, as I received it as a small rooted cutting last Fall. I look at it daily, well about 15 times a day to make sure it is looking good. If it continues to do good, hopefully my next picture will be it's flowers.

Deb

Opps I forgot to add the picture.

Here also is Hoya aff. fraterna, not the most interesting looking buds, but very exciting!

Your buds look funny...looks like 3 peduncles going to grow... hmmmmm.

San Francisco, CA

Might be- I noticed the peduncle looked funny when it formed, the end looked very irregular and it had two very small leaves growing out the end of it, maybe the peduncle was trying to branch? Should be interesting!

Trelleborg, Sweden

I had root bumps on a peduncle on my citrina (bought as glabra) or whatever it is!

I guess that makes sense, isn't a peduncle a modified stem?

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Debbie I sure hopes these peduncles don't blast on you. Hopefully you'll be posting a picture of the flowas soon.

Blessings,

That's a cool looking fuzzy peduncle on the H. aff. fraterna! The bud formation is interesting. Hope it comes along well so we can all see.

Mark cool flowers and buds! Luv your setup.
