I haven't owned an African Violet in years. The other day I was at HD when they put a bunch out. One was so amazing, it just jumped into my cart. Before I knew it, 3 more went in also!
This one is a deep pink splotched with purple. Is this a common one?
Hi!
Oh Kell beautiful ! Yes those are fantasy blossoms ! I just love Fantasy blossoms. Thanks for sharing !
Welcome to our African violet forum. Hope to see you a lot ! Everyone here are the Kindness :))
Allison
Oh very pretty :) and welcome to the forum!
It is very hard to say what is common and what it not! There are thousands of types of AVS and it is almost impossible to identity ones without a name.
I wish I could be more helpful then that but I can't :)
She is lovely though!

Hi kell.Welcome to the Av forum.Glad you joined us!
hi and welcome...i haven't found a common plant yet...looking good.
HI KELL!!! So glad you came to the AV forum (folks, meet Kell , Kell meet folks) Kell is my personal Brugmansia GURU!! She's a gardening GENIUS!
Everytime I have a problem or question, she's right there to help! ANd we share a fondness for Cali dungeness crab!!
Be careful Kell we're all in need of a 12 step type group for our AV addictions! And with over 20,000 to choose from, you could never get bored!! In fact I hang out here more than I do with the BegoniaHeads! Of course I haven't given up my first love, but while they're dormant, Its ALL about AVs for me!
So Welcome Welcome Welcome!
Hugs,
Laurie
Heya, Kell! Welcome to the AV forum! I hope you'll enjoy browsing through the threads & pictures here -- and posting more of your own! That pink & purple bloom is wonderful!
We have new "sticky" links at the top of the page, with dozens of fun & informative links about AVs and other gesnariads. Home Depot tends to use a heavy, wet potting mix... so you might want to look at the info about potting mix & watering, so your new plants continue looking fabulous... you may know all about this if you've grown AVs before, but mine definitely started doing better when I switched to a lighter mix.
Enjoy your new treasures!
Thanks! Sounds like you all have a great forum here!! All I remember about AVs is the crown rot if you overwater. I sure need to do a lot of reading on them. I will check out the soil, Critterologist.
I can't wait to see all the plants that fall under this forum. I am always up for a new addiction esp. one that has small plants in it for a change. And HD prices were so right.
Hey Lali, fancy meeting you here. I had no clue you were a AV lover! I got a new begonia the other day at Navlets! LOL
Thanks all for the warm welcome!

Welcome Kell - I've grown AV's [NOIDS] for as long as I can remember, but have just started getting into their names and propagating them. This group is great!!! You will love it here!
Did your plants have tags with names?
