and Hibiscus are one of my favorites and very easy to root cuttings...can't imagine Florida without them

Gorgeous... the colors on that first one are remarkable! I love hibiscus too, and I want to put some in a tropical-looking bed with my new bananas... However, I may settle for the hardier H. moscheutos and H. syriaca (Rose of Sharon & Rose Mallow) rather than the tender tropical ones. I'll try them again this year from seed. I got couple of seedlings last year, but they didn't make it to the end of summer.

I don't have any non-AV's blooming right now -- but by next week, I may have an amaryllis or two to post!

ah critter....my amaryllis outside..won't start blooming until march..but they are a show...and so pretty....I have tried to grow the traditional hollyhocks here for many years...just won't work...i do have some of the native...which are more like the mallows...(which i love)....and the rose of sharon...oh such wonderful memories of those..
