Anybody had experience with this plant, also called Scotch Moss? I saw it at the Home Depot and picked it up- but we all know that HD often stocks 'yankee' plants, like Pansy, that do poorly here.
This one really caught my eye as I am looking for something low and green and uniform for an oriental look. But I wonder how it will do here.

Michael, just found this thread. The Sagina does not like heat and humidity so will probably not perform well for you in Naples. A fast spreader that would do well in a shady location and form a nice mat is Lysimachia nummularia http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/677/index.html, although it can be very aggressive. L.n. 'Aurea' has brilliant gold foliage and is far superior to the green of the straight species. You might also want to try Carex - some of the shorter species are very nice as a groundcover. Although they are not "green", the variegation of Carex 'Kaga nishiki' and 'Island Brocade' are two of our favorites.
By the way, we've spent some time in Naples these past few years - beautiful area, and we love Driftwoods Nursery!
Pansy is one of the best cool weather annuals! Not a yankee plant by far.
sorry that I am so late coming back to the site, couldn't be helped.
By 'yankee plant' I simply mean plants that just won't thrive here in 11a, that's all. And pansy is definitely one of them!
