We don't want to miss out now that we have a real chance! Wash your cars! Do a RAIN dance! Visualize lots of RAIN! Where we are, I can hardly remember rain. In summer of 2002, my hubby was coming home from working in Florida and I told him to bring some rain with him. Okay, I confess, I CAUSED that awful flood. The day after he got home it rained hard all day long, followed by a week of massive rain and flooding. I felt TERRIBLE! So no flooding, please, just rain.
Linda
Think RAIN!
We are praying for rain, with all the horrible wilfires, and many people have lost their homes, we hope to get some soon.
Josephine.
Let it Rain...Let it Rain...
I hear we may get some down here Sunday--60% chance--that's higher odds than I've seen in a long time.
edited to add--we must have got some rain last night; there is a puddle standing under my gutter downspout (there is a slight hole there). I guess we need to get our rain gauges out like last June when it got so dry.

Yea!!!! We got rain showers yesterday and a good rain last night. It was so nice to have the house quiet and just listen to the rain hit the roof. ahhhhhhh
It is getting really cloudy outside right now and we have a pretty good chance for more rain tomorrow. Let it come!!!!
I don't ever remember such a dry winter.
Lin
It has really rained most of the day today. It's wonderful!!
Lin
We have rain here too, gentle and steady the best kind, Thank God.
Josephine.
We had a slow rain all day yesterday, I sent it y'alls way! Now, please send warm air in return, my toes are cold!
Pouring down rain here off and on.
A little bit of rain last night/this morning, 2 to 3 tenths of an inch. Hoping for more....we need that pouring down rain also. Come on, RAIN!
Linda
We estimate we have gotten at least 2 inches of rain maybe more. It has really poured down today. It's a fine rain right now. Wonderful!

I went to bed Sat. night late and about midnight woke up with a strange noise. It took me a moment to realize it was a heavy rain! It was still raining this morning although very light. It continued all morning and I don't think any of us complained. Thanks God!
We had rain off and on all morning here in the center of Texas and got 1/2" plus one unfortunate spider in the rain gauge. It is enough to sprout some winter grass in the pastures, but we still need those soaking rains that we missed in the fall. I'm very grateful for every drop that has fallen!
Patricia
Patricia you must live in the country too by mentioning the pasture grass. We do too and I've noticed how the pasture has greened up already. I do hope we get more rain soon though. It has sure been a strange winter.
Lin
Lin, we live in the edge of town now, but we have a ranch near Goldthwaite. Normally we have wonderful winter pastures in the bayou and river bottoms, but not yet this year. We made extra hay a couple of years ago and there's still lots of dry grass in the pastures from all the rain last spring. There's a chance of rain again later this week, and we are hopeful for a bit more. I hope you get some too!
Last weekend was so nice, rain and distant thunder most of the time. Friday evening, all day Sat, and all day Sunday. It was heaven! They're expecting more rain this weekend, I hope we'll get it. I can find something to do indoors, plus I like to watch my garden smile at all the rain.
:-)
We might get some Friday. In this drought, every tenth of an inch counts.
We had 0.9 in the rain gauge from the weeken rain! But of course it is a drop in the bucket from what we will need to make it through the summer this next year. The City will be asking for volunteer rationing in the next week or so. Hopefully it will help if folks will do it.
We got enough rain that it filled my pond back up. I had it empty to clean it & hadn't gotten to it yet. I heard that someone in Little Elm got almost 2 inches.
Wow, I would be sooo happy to receive a 2 inch rain.
We have about an 80% chance of rain tonight and tomorrow. I sure hope we get it. We need so much more before summer.
Lin
We got rain today. In West Texas. I can't believe it.
We had the remainder of what came through your area, and it was a wonderful all night rain. It measured 1.6"!!!! If we can get one rain like that once a week it would be wonderful.
Raining here today!!!! Soft and gentle, we still had moisture from the last one, and it is all soaking in, just wonderful.
It rained here from about midnight on. Our gauge had 1.5" from this rain making a total of 2" during the last week. Such a blessing! I love to see puddles and mud!!
It's great, but...getting the dogs to go out isn't. Our pomerian went potty under a climber just off the pergola & I can't get the chi to go out at all. She's buried under the covers in my bed.
Hazel, I love your little dog, all ready for rain! :-)
We're supposed to get rain here today, still waiting.
Around noon or 1pm the rain began here. It has really been nice too. It fell just right, nice and slow. It has stopped right now at 4:44pm. I hope it starts up again later.
Lin
We got 0.6 inches! Such a blessing in this drought!
We just got a teeny sprinkle, lasted for about 2 minutes.
Yea!!!!!!! We are getting a really really nice rain here right now.
Lin
Rain? When ya'll find it...can you please send some down to the south tip of Texas. We recently had two 'major' grass/brush fires back at the ranch (San Isidro, TX).
About three weeks ago close to 2000 acres went up in a blaze and just this past Thursday another 1000 acres burned up. Thankfully no human lives were lost...but property, livestock and wild game have been affected.
Everything is so dry out there. It's not like city living where you have sprinkler systems and fire/water hydrants and plenty of firestations nearby. We have a small one-truck volunteer fire department and all the trucks from neighboring towns are called in to help. There are no fire/water hydrants where a hose can be hooked up...the water used is just what comes in the trucks...and it only takes a few minutes for an acre to go up in smoke. Farmers, ranchers and anyone with a tractor, bulldozer or backhoe etc. must quickly move in plow through the area to make fire breaks.

Cat, I was in Hidalgo county(La Joya) last Friday, I think you guys are drier than we are!
Yes, in spite of the rain that some of us have been enjoying, I have been concerned about the rest of the state. Even with our rain, we are still under a burn ban, so I know you guys are really in a bad situation.
I saw on the news that there is a la nina condition in the ocean, not good news for us.
