having trouble handling my mini's
Bob, you have to be careful about bigger pots... if there's too much extra potting mix in ratio to roots, the mix stays too wet, and the plant develops rot. That said, I think the depth of the pot may be more important than the width, so you might try putting a mini into one of those shallow but wider Bonsai pots... If it starts looking droopy even though you know the soil is moist, then you'll have to rescue it and put it back in a smaller pot.
Sometimes, when I'm potting up the little ones, I use chopsticks to settle the soil around them where my fingers won't fit.
ah...well i will have to improvise...and, of course...in smaller pots..take less room....thanks critter...
Yes keep plants in 2 Inch pots until they are 6-7 inches across then go to 2.50 then 3 inch...Miniatures never need larger than 2 Inch and Semi's 2.50 inch :))
Oh I lose some of the babies too Bob//No worries ...I will have plenty more to share!
And yup what they said....you probably want to stay with a smaller pot!
smaller pots it is..
