do you guys think i should put the streps in bigger pots?

(Zone 7b)

I just got a teeny tiny one of that this year, no blooms yet, but that's lovely.
I've got one strep that is completely rootbound, which blooms like crazy - I don't want to move it into a bigger pot in case it stops!

2zeus..i don't blame you...don't mess with success...i'm thinking of cutting a piece off the top of one leaf and see if it will give babies

Bob beautiful Strep ! Streps like light soil and their roots are close to the top. I grow mine in pan pots.
( Once their large enough) I have several babies growing ! A two inch piece of leaf can give you 20-60 plantlets !
Streps don't like being pot bound. Streps are very fast , vigorous growers, and need to be (divided and ) repotted into fresh soil at least every 6 months. When very rootbound ( especially) in very old soil ), center growth may show these symptoms-in extrems cases
They also like to be dry.
I like growing mine in natural light and so far their always blooming the few I have ! Have fun !

allison thanks for the growing advice...i'll play with it and see what happens...

(Zone 7b)

Allison, how do I divide mine? My big one blooms so much I'm afraid to touch it, but if I had some advice I might be willing to try...:)

With Streps there is no crown. One leaf is concidered one Plantlet.
I break them where it looks right. You could also move it to a low larger pot and let it keep growing. I put some of mine in 5 " pan pots. Their filling up I turn them a lot . Their in natural light. The Sticky has tons of info. Here is a link from there on Propagation, but it does chose separating. there way more links in the sticky though.
