Nana Nandina in Houston

Tomball, TX(Zone 9a)

Does anyone have Nana Nandina planted in the shade? If so, do you get good color, or must they be in sun? They have some beauties at Cornelius on 1960 I am lusting after.

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

I have some in shade and in sun. both turn the beautiful red. only difference I notice is that the ones in sun required trimming more frequently than ones in shade.

Thanks so much, that is exactly what I wanted to hear! jackie

What about the 'Gulf Stream' nandinas? I just planted 10 of them
throughout the yard. Not sure if they will get the same red color
or berries.

I have been very disappointed with the nana in the shade. Very little color. Unfort., I didn't know that when I planted them.
