I am curious about Misters.. I have a wall that faces to the east, it's going to get perfect morning sun exposure till about almost noon, then shade.. but there are times in the summer it gets really hot and dry here.. I was thinking of running a 3/4" pipe along the top part of the wall about 6' high with misters every few feet cause I plan on planting that entire area with brugs..
Will that be a good idea? or like I saw it suggested somewhere else, cause too much moisture and cause rot? Any input would be appreciated.
Question about Misters in Zone 9b
I have a side yard that is exactly the same conditions that you have. I built a slat roof for it and after I put the shadecloth up I took the tubing that is the diameter of a pencil and put misters up. I ran it to my faucet and just got a new faucet that has a hole on the side for the tubing to screw into. That makes no sense & I even know what I am talking about. LOL I am gonna run out right now & snap a pic for you.
The faucet I was trying to describe is on the left and the misters I made are on the right.
I have really been happy with them and don't think you will have any problem with them rotting anything. Assuming you are only gonna use them when its hot.

Yes.. That is exactly what I'm talking about! Only not with the shade cloth.. I'm not quite ready to do that... Only cause the whole area is going to get such an extreme makeover.. the budget can't handle it yet.
I am running drip lines to the porch and making outlets for pots everywhere, so I figured while I was at it, I could run some pipe to that wall and cool the place down when it's extreme. You are so close, you know exactly what I mean about those "extreme" days!
Thank you so much!
You're welcome, I am glad that helped. :~)
I do not get real hot here but I often put my hose on mist and mist my whole yard in the summer. Everything seems to love it!! I only have trouble with rot in the winter when it is so wet and cold too. I bet your brugs love it.
The older I get, the less I can tolerate our heat.. dry or not, it's just misserable. I think me and the kids will be "hangin out" around the misters this summer!
Kell, I long for weather like where you are!
