Newbie from Tennessee

Hello all, I am new here, and relatively new to gardening. My husband and I just bought our first home in August, and we now have a yard!! Yea!!! I have always loved gardening, but I don't really know much of the details about it, but now that we have space, a decent sized back yard (with a pool ;-)), I am ready to get serious. I do a lot of cooking, and we are crazy about spices and herbs. I would like to get a curry tree, a cardamom bush, and start growing my own ginger just to name a very few things, so I know I really have a lot to learn. I am also interested in learning about and growing some medicinal plants as well. Anyway, I am looking forward to exploring this website, and getting to know all of you...
