I figured I'd post the question here as your thread about the basement babies is getting so long. You showed pictures of leaves in boxes? Do you use that instead of a humidity dome?

Critter - question for you
The boxes do seem to be deep enough to keep some humidity around the plants the first few days after watering, but after that I've been putting the lids back on. The lids are clear, so light gets through. If I think humidity levels are too high (lots of condensation on the lid), then I pull off the lid during the day when the lights are on so things can dry out a bit. It's not an exact science, LOL. I should probably drill some holes in the lids (I like ventillation holes in my humidity domes for seed starting), but I haven't gotten to it yet, and meanwhile I just put the lids on slightly askew to allow for some ventillation.
You're right about the length of that thread... I'll start a new one!
It's a great idea - especially for larger plants if you don't want to tent the whole unit!
I've also got a repurposed aquarium I use for cuttings etc. And those little tabletop greenhouses do a good job of holding in humidity also, especially if you leave just a tad of water in the bottom of the saucers or trays.
Here are my mini greenhouses out on the back patio last spring... Now they're by a basement window with scented geranium cuttings inside.
critter--Those greenhouses are like mine, except mine are taller and have one more shelf, but otherwise they are the same. One is brand new and it's purpose eventually is AVs, but I've not put it together yet. Where did you buy yours?

I'm assuming that they are indoors right now?
Yes, they are. And probably will stay indoors all the time.
I am attaching a picture of part of my corner of windows and you can see the corner of the first greenhouse. I have all my porch plants inside under the windows but you can't see them very well. In that corner there are six of these good-sized windows, these three facing the yard and the most sunlight.
The first window around the corner gets good light, but faces the carport. The other two on the same side face into the carport, but there is a Zoneline heating/cooling unit under them, so can't put plants along there.
I have this greenhouse sitting on an unused coffee table in order to get good light to the bottom shelf, and will have to find another table for the second greenhouse. My plan is to have the two of them side by side, but moved over into the corner. This is in my bedroom, which is a really big room and the best light in the house for plants.
I lucked into mine at a 90% off clearance at JoAnn's.... I paid about $5 apiece for them!
What a bargain - I never get lucky with good bargains - except at Kohl's
I'm impressed with your bargain. I've gotten some wonderful bargains at Jo-Ann's, too, over the time I've been going there.
I hauled several of those big black metal shepherd hooks up to the checkout one day and not a one of them had a bar code, but the ladies knew they were supposed to be on sale. They scanned some tag or other and I got them for $4 each!
The other day I was in there going over their post-Christmas stuff (ornaments, ribbons, gifts) and got everything for 75% off. Stashed it away for this coming holiday season. Only spent $49 and had a ton of stuff.
Anyway, I really like your greenhouses. Nice size to work with and move around.
