new gardener in NE Tennessee wanting veggie success! ;)

Hi all,

I am a new vegetable gardener trying to prepare for my first season of gardening. I've been busy reading and taking it all in, and i want to start now! :) I can't wait !!!

I grew up on a farm, and my parents grew all sorts of wonderful fruits and veggies in my early years, but as an adult, I've lived in rental house after rental house and never wanted to plant at the possibility of having to move mid-season. This year, i own my own home, have an area designated for my veggie garden and am anxious to learn as much as i can. I wanted to welcome all you pro gardeners out there to toss some tips my way - it looks like I'm in one 6a or 6b - can't decide, but probably 6a.

stacie - hello and welcome from upstate new york. you will love this place. all you need to do is check out the vegetable gardening forum or the tomato forum and ask all the questions you want. even have a container gardening forum in case you want to go that way. will you be starting your veggies from seeds or are you gonna buy them this first time and just put into the garden??

anyway you choose, we will be here with you to answer any questions you might have.
