Nicotiana!!! Does anyone grow this?

Fort Worth, TX

Good Morning,
A gentleman from Greece that owns a local restaurant has this growing on his patio and when we have dinner there it is just like desert when we are leaving. Can anyone share there experiences with this and which variety does well here? The smell is just intoxicating! I love the night bloomers. Where did you buy your seed.
IT MUST be in my garden this year.
His has small leaves about 3-4 inches. He brought the seeds from Greece.

Thanks,
Karen

This is one of my favorite plants. It is easy to grow and comes back each year. I bought my original plant at a school project. This is the plant with petunia blooming with it.

I have grown them in Houston area and loved them as well. Some varieties are available in the summer here through HD and other large places. I am guessing that they do well in the heat!

I havealways grown them in early spring--the heat gets to them about June--but that was before I had much shade in my yard. They might have made it longer with some shade. I grew from seeds--great fragrance--just haven't grown any in a few years.

I grow mine in full sun.

There is a variety that grows wild here, not as fragrant as the ones you buy. I am planting the fragrant ones from seed this spring.

www.valueseeds.com has several varieties for cheap!
