Weight Loss Challange Jan. 14 - Jan. 21

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

Sorry to be so late in getting this thread started. Jack came home from the hospital late last night. I picked him ups about 9 last night after I got off work. He will be on IVs for at least 2 more weeks. The doctors added another antibiotic, Gentamycin(?). I'll go to Columbia on Monday to pick it up. He has an antibiotic ointment to be applied to the toe twice daily.

I'm glad to hear that Howie is resting well at Dea & Michael's and that Kim is such a faithful nurse. Of course when the nurse is so totally devoted to and in love with the patient what else can we expect?

We had terrible competition last night for the cafe'. The seniors at a local hight school were having a fund raising dinner and many of our patrons have children at this school or at least friends. I hear they served 701 while we managed to take care of 54. Tonight there was no competition that we knew of but still did only 11. We did get some cleaning done tho and there are no dirt dishes or silverware to come in to on Monday.

I did pretty well with the eating yesterday & today. I managed to stick to mostly high protein, high fiber, low fat, low sugar foods both days. I was upset that my new work pants were quite snug last night. That certainly made me get more serious about losing these pounds again. No more cappachinoes, etc. It is still the late night munchings that are bothering me. Like right now, I really want to eat. I've had some graham crackers but they really are not what I think I want. My mind is going toward a nice sandwich with lots of lettuce, tomato slices, etc. Maybe if I try really hard I can make myself believe I am satisfied with a glass of warm orange flavored Metamucil and get myself into bed immediately. If the sleeping pills work fast enough I may be safe. We need to get up early in the morning so we can get to church.

GOD bless and keep each of you.
