this might seem really silly..but I have a question about the safety of crockpots. I'm paranoid about them because I lived through a bad fire 10 years ago. The fire was not caused by a crockpot, but it was still a fire that was electrical in nature. I work far from home, so being less nervous about using my crockpot would save me a lot of time dinner fixing when I get home in the evening.
Is it safe to leave something cooking for 8-12 hours on your countertop? Comments or suggestions? Dode.
