Have: Artemesia Gmelinii Seeds

Athens, OH

A Chinese medicinal herb.
FOR TRADE OR SASBE.

It is hardy to zone 3. It is in flower from August to October, and the seeds ripen from August to October. The flowers are hermaphrodite (has both male and female organs) and are pollinated by Insects.

The plant prefers light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils, requires well-drained soil and can grow in nutritionally poor soil. The plant prefers acid, neutral and basic (alkaline) soils. It cannot grow in the shade. It requires dry or moist soil and can tolerate drought.

The leaf and stem are used in Korea to treat hepatitis, hyperlipaemia and infected cholecystitis. The plant contains flavonoids, sesquiterpenes and other bio-active constituents, though no bio-activites have been recorded scientifically.

Seed - surface sow from late winter to early summer in a greenhouse, making sure that the compost does not dry out. When large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and grow them on in the greenhouse for their first winter. Plant out in late spring or early summer.

Wow, there you are again! Love some of those, also. I have a greenhouse. How long have you been studying and using medicinal herbs? I do some wildcrafting also, with great care for preserving plant crops and mother earth. Can definately harvest some seed for you, love to see people cultivating what they can of the wild medicinals. Spikenard, Pippsissewa, Mullein, Oregon Grape, Elderberry, Goldenrod, European Vervain, Pearly Everlasting, St Johns Wort, and lots more, again, can't think of them all right now. Don't know if you're into smudging, but I have some Sweet Grass seed. Oh, and Valerian root, and so on.

I would love to have some of this, but I'm afraid my trade list is a bit scant. Check it out?? Please let me know!
thank you.

Rox,
Thank you! I'm in the exchange now. (I didn't know it was there until another member told me!) Sorry to be so long in replying...I only WISH I were on vacation...my back was OUT and I was flat out on it! OUCH! Moving around a bit better today. I have some Cnicus Benedictus (Blessed Thistle) just ready to come out of the fridge if you'd like some in trade?

Thanks!

Sure!
