I am very impressed by your greenhouse pictures, very inspiring!

Dallas, GA(Zone 7b)

i finished my propogation bed it has 12' of full spectrum light on four banks
with 60 feet of thermostaticly controled heat cable in 2 inches of sand it holds
12 flats and is fully adjustable and can be completely broke down for storage and can hold another 12 on the truss if needed.

Very nice, bulbhound. Post some pics when it's full of cuttings!

Bulbhound I really like your Prop Bed...Did you build it from plans or just winged it???? Did you just use a router for the slide to raise it up and down? What is all the wiring on top? Z

Dallas, GA(Zone 7b)

i winged it all the way i learned a lot, a lot of things i would change now but it will work out fine i just started seeding flats {lots of work!} a few days ago, and have 7 more to do. after testing with everything in place under normal conditions i can keep the flats soil temp at bout 70* @mid to high 30's outside temps so with such a massive undertaking im going to germinate most of the flats on the ol reliable fridg this time. so well see how it all works out but here are the numbers. total cost is about 200$ for lumber, lights, trays, heat cable, thermostat .of course this was with ALOT of re engineering. and yes i did use a router for the slots and a bandsaw for the curves as well as clamped and glued I beam 1/2"
cypress for the light trusses and as a safety measure, ill have to stilt the truss assembly from sliding down the slot and crushing the flats or worse popping 12' light tubes because everything is completely exposed to allow for the maximun amount of sun light to reach the seedlings.
