Looking absolutely wonderful lucky! Ü

Thanks for making me even more impatient for spring's arrival Lucky, lol!
I yanked out a pot of forced hyacinths from cold storage about 2 weeks ago and over the last two days they've been putting on a show. My pick-me-up cure for the winter blahs.
This a pic of Delft Blue and when these are near done, I'll pull out the other pot of the orange hyacinths. The heavenly scent is filling my living room tonight......here, I'll waft some your way.......ahhhhhh!

Cheers,
Erynne

Very pretty! Why didn't I think of doing that....sheesh!

I did think of doing that - had 3 pots of hyacinths but decided to do the cold period different than usual - had them buried in sand in a foam cooler out in my shed, covered with leaves. Pulled them out 3 weeks ago, lovely roots, about an inch of growth and a few days later they started blowing bubbles! All frozen! (sob) Ah well guess I will have to go buy mine from the Safeway this year!

Oh dear....you poor thing! I never saw a plant blow bubbles.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Neither did I! I posted he pics here and somebody posted back that they were frozen. Here's the pics..................http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/566128/#new

That is to bizarre! I had planted hyacinths a couple of years in the ground. They came up for two years and the second year they bloomed and never saw them again. Weird.
