Ever Special

Silver Spring, MD

Look what is happening to my Ever Special. First the green edge turned to gray. This blooming the edge is disappearing and lavendar and white streakes are appearing in the petals. Do you think this plant is mutating?

I don't know but agree with you that this is very different from y everspecial.
How odd.

Well Nanna, it has been to outer space and back. It is very cool.

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Maybe some Aliens got a hold of these seeds :))
Picture of EverSpecial for those who have not seen it.

Are the blossoms new , fresh ? Maybe it's reverting back to one of it's parents ? It's not showing stable, you'll have to see what next blooms do ? Do you have leaves down of her ? Good to put a leaf down of each plant for insurance or sharing :))

I like the alien theory. I do have leaves down. We'll have to see what they do. The blooms are not the first of this cycle, but they are not withering. It is very pretty even if it is reverting.

Thanks for the response.

The blooms are sorta wild looking :))

Maybe we can name it Wild Alien.

Heh that will be great ! Wild Alien may eat Keyrings green men. lol
Well if you get three generations of stable sport not counting Mom plant you could name it and register it. I've been looking at it it's pretty wild :))

Missouri City, TX(Zone 9a)

Man wouldn't that be great nanna? Lets see, you could call it Nanna's Wild Alien or something like that!
Very cool looking and I love the idea that the aliens got it!

Ever Special is starting to bloom again. Sorry to tell you no aliens in the group. She is blooming true. Buds have green edging and it turns lighter to a gray as the bloom opens.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Dang, I rather liked the idea of "Nanna's Wild Alien" AV! Well, it's a gorgeous plant no matter what variations occur in the blooms!

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Oh Shucks ! Isn't funny how sometimes first blooms goes sport or ever tenth blooms Sport. And even if the SPort has been grown out 3 generations or 10 generations it can Sport back or Sport different.
Fantasy and varigated plants are very unstable. It's fun you never know when you may get an alien surprise "))
