Welcome to DG crazy_gardener, from Ginny in mid-western Ontario. What do you like to grow?

Pickering, ON(Zone 5b)

Welcome crazy_gardener, from Annetta in Pickering Ontario....

Wainwright, AB(Zone 2b)

Wow, thank you so much for the welcome!

What do I like to grow, hmmm, probably anything that can survive our winters, you name it, but I do specialize in hardy own-root roses.

Thanks for the welcome!

Hi, Sharon! I'd just like to extend a welcome too. Are there a lot of roses that can be grown in your zone, or just a select few? I don't know much about roses as I have a mostly shady property.

I'm sure you'll like it here at Dave's Garden.

Hi Sharon - welcome from Calgary!

Hi Sharon,

Welcome from Ann in Ottawa. Hope to meet you often in various forums.

Wainwright, AB(Zone 2b)

Thanks for all you welcomes!

You'd be surprised how many hardy roses are available for us folks who live in the cold zones Sandy, althou most do need lots of sun in order to grow well to prevent any diseases. Parklands, Explorers and many others grow well here, I just make sure that I buy my roses on their own-root, not grafted.

I don’t know how to make a link, but my two favourite places that I order own-root roses are from Cornhill Nursery in NB and Cedar Hollow Rose Farm in BC.

Again, thanks for all the welcomes!

Sharon, it's really easy making a link. Just copy the URL from the page you are on and paste it into the message window. DG makes it into the "hyperlink....." . I think that you DO need the http:// before the www.

Try it sometime and then preview your message just to be sure you've got it right. If you do, your link will be active in the preview.

I'll check out those nurseries, but my sun is so limited that I do better with Hostas than roses.

Silly me, I thought there were only a few kinds of hostas - the same few you see at garden centres, until I found DG...

Edmonton, AB(Zone 3a)

Hi, there!

Saint Bonifacius, MN(Zone 4a)

Ya know, just like at GW, the Canadian forum is the friendliest one. (Hope you don't mind me butting in.)

Wainwright, AB(Zone 2b)

LOL, are you stalking me Rick ;)

Saint Bonifacius, MN(Zone 4a)

Well Sharon . . . you did prompt the very first post I ever made here at DG. I'd say that makes you pretty special.

St. Peter's, PE(Zone 6a)

Sharon,
Welcome to DG! I am a new member myself. I have been spending alot of time reading all the great posts here. Definitely a great site!

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Hi Sharon, from chilly Ottawa. This is a real place, not just the word reporters use to talk about politics (Ottawa announced today...). I haven't been on DG for a while and it's like discovering it all over again. Spend a good long time here to explore -- lots to see and do and learn.

Drumheller, Alberta, Canada(Zone 3a)

Welcome Sharon,
I am a relatively new DGer but have found it quite friendly, especially the fellow Canucks!
Enjoy,
Dawna

We need a Canadian Seed Trade forum, don't ya think?

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8a)
