Wanted Info and seeds for consolida (larkspur)

In NC I had a section of garden with various consolida. Each year they would reseed.
I brought a few seeds to OH, but I was never able to establish them here.

1. When is the best time to sow consolida seeds in zone 6a? Do I need to start them indoors or can I sow directly? Will the plants bloom that year?
2. Does anyone have any seeds to share or trade?
