Hi Laurel,
Welcome to DG. I live just East of Toronto in Pickering. I am sure you will be very glad that you join DG. Everyone on here is so friendly and they all help with answers to gardening questions...

Hi Laurel. A big welcome from nice and snowy Manitoba. It is so nice to have a new Canadian subscriber that posts here right away. We can get quite chatty at times.

Have you got some pics you can show us? What do you enjoy growing?

Hi there, Laurel, my name is Sandy and I'm from west of Ottawa. I'd like to welcome you to this friendly place, Dave's Garden. How long have you been gardening? I enjoy perennials, particularly hostas, daylilies and heucheras. Do you have any favourite plants?

Sandy

Thanks everyone! Here is a pic of part of my garden.

Hello and welcome Laurel! I'm Erynne and still rather new to DG myself. I really like how you have landscaped your garden bed as well as the pretty garden art. It does look beautiful! I just got my house here in Mississauga back in July 2005 and signing up on DG has really helped me with garden planning ideas.
I just know that you'll get much enjoyment from DG.

Cheers!

Hi Laurel,

Welcome aboard, I must be just up (or down) the road from you, I'm near Belwood. Your gardens look wonderful already so with all the help you'll get on the forum it'll be over the top!

Sunkeeper

Hillsburgh, ON(Zone 5a)

Sunkeeper, you're right! We're only about 15 minutes away from you in Hillsburgh. Small world, eh?

Laurel

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Hi Laurel,

Welcome to DG. That's a lovely photo of your yard. I see a common plant as I've also got the yellow primroses. But I spend more of my time invested in Hostas.

Where, specifically, do you live? We have friends in Guelph and get there on occasion. Also nice country to the north and west of Toronto.

I hope you'll enjoy DG. It's a great place to get advice, help in identifying strange plants, or just to chat. And as a bonus, if you specific plant interests, you may meet some people with whom you can trade plants as well.

Ann in Ottawa

Hillsburgh, ON(Zone 5a)

Ann, I'm about 30 km from Guelph, near Erin. If you're in the area, let me know. I'd love to get together. Maybe we could get Sunkeeper to join us?

Laurel

Belwood, ON(Zone 5a)

Give me a date and time and I'll stop at Tim's for us! I love to get together with other gardeners that we meet on forums, any experience I've had so far has been wonderful.

All of my husband's family is from Erin/Hillsburgh, now it's going to be very funny if in fact we're related!

Sunkeeper

Hillsburgh, ON(Zone 5a)

Sunkeeper, it's unlikely we'd be related, as we're relative newcomers (only 27 years) to the area. But I'd love to get together sometime, especially in the summer when I can show off my back yard.

Sounds like a plan to me. Keep in touch, we'll see if we can't get something together.
