Amaryliss

Mt Zion, IL(Zone 5b)

This is the first time I've ever grown an Amaryliss. Must've done okay as it bloomed today.
Now, what do I do with it once it's done blooming? I have no clue!
thanks!

I'm in a different zone, so better wait for someone in your zone. I plant mine in the ground.

Athens, OH

I'm in zone 6a.
I wait until the nights are >50F and plant it outside for the summer until the first frost.
Then I put it in the garage ~45F and let the leaves die back. Then I put it in a cardboard box with shredded newsprint for the winter (in the garage) and plant it when the nights are >50F.

It's fun to have a large display of amaryllis in the summer in Ohio!

Sounds easy enough - THANKS FOR THE HELP!

I replant to a larger pot. It will leaf out soon. I set it outdoors from May to October in a ½ day of sun. Sometimes they bloom in summer and then again in winter. I don't take them out of the pot to dry out.
