Has anybody ever grown a musa from the Feh'i (aka Fe'i) group ?
Feh'i (aka Fe'i) is a group of edible bananas with obscure origins,
all that is really known about them is that they are in the subgenera/section Australimusa.
Rare Banana hunting ..............
There is a little bell ringing in my blond brain, Scooterbug....let me "think on it" a while and ask around.....

Kewl ! ! ! !
AH...it is getting clearer. Fe'i is the name for a cooking banana in one of the S.Pacific Islands - Tonga? Tahiti? Or maybe it is the edible and not the cooking...... Samoa?
Friends are coming over tomorrow who specialize in growing different bananas and selling them. (They are coming to dig up some pups from our IceCream, CubanRed and Apples). I will ask them....they surely will know.
Scooterbug: Fe'i is from Tahiti. It is a standard banana size...with a fruit that turns a bright orange (or did she say red/yellow...don't remember) and a fruit, when ripe that is Coast Guard/Neon orange. It IS a cooking banana...and delicious...but when V E R Y ripe and soft, the fruit is delicious...like a banana pudding.
Sorry....that's all I could find? Friends of mine will have some for sale in a couple of years.

Great .
So far we only know if one nursery that sells but it is in another country so not worth it after all fees that would be incurred.
They were just discussing Feh'i one day at a Banana Forum and it kinda stuck in my mind.
