Blanket Flower, Indian Blanket 'Goblin' (Gaillardia aristata)

Lexington, VA(Zone 6a)

Incredible picture of a fantastic plant! We grew this plant quite a few years ago and it has never ceased to amaze me how much abuse it can take.

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

My favorite 'short' Blanket Flower. More uniform than the 'Arizona Sun' I tried last Summer. Thogh is right. Constant blooms if deadheaded, too.

I bought some seeds of that plant but never got them planted. Do you have a picture of them in your gardens that we can see?

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

I would like to know about planting the seeds. I read that they needed light. Does that mean the seeds shouldn't be covered at all? Or if they should be covered, how deeply?

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

This site has some information that is pretty much how I sow them. http://www.outsidepride.com/seed/wildflower-seed/blanketflower-wildflower-seed.html

Sometimes in the fall I just crumble the seedheads in my hand and broadcast them. Some take and some don't, but they are prolific re-seaders.

Springfield, IL(Zone 5b)

So you can crumble the flower heads up and spread them out and they will grow back or will they spread on their own? also on a website it said that new plantlets will grow by "cutting straight down along the side of a clump in mid-summer." what does this mean and how do i do it??

Thanks!!

Derrick
