Hi Anna,

I would like to also welcome you to this wonderful site. I read on another thread somewhere that you just joined us.

I can send you a few Brug cuttings of Golden Lady, Frosty Pink and Candida Dble White.
I also have a Dianthus "Baths Pink".

Would you be interested in a Golden colored dahlia tuber also? Let me wander the garden today and see what else I have available too.

Let me know if any of these sound ok and we can talk more.

Anna, we're having a plant swap (its called the Georgia Roundup) on May 6. It doesn't matter if you have nothing to trade. The people are so generous with all of their plants. Plus, it isn't a strict swap. You just list whatever you have and people request what they like. You can visit the sites and make your own requests. You don't have to offer them anything. You'll get off to such a good start that very soon you'll have tons of stuff to offer yourself.

Carmen

Anna
If you are interested I can fill up a flat rate priority box with yellow daffodils and kwanso daylilies.
Just let me know.
Gina

Edited to say,
I saw where you would like epi cuttings.
I have a rooted piece of a large white epi I can send as well.

Hi GSkinner!

You have Dmail!

Hi GSkinner!

You have Dmail!

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

Spider, I have gone to the GA Round-up twice and got lots of plants and gave a lot away. Check out the round-up forum and you will see how things are organized. You can also ask for specific plants before you go and people will tag them for you.
Some folks stay at a nearby campground and others stay in motels, but we all get together for meals and the swap.
I have been asked to go to the one in Knoxville and I'm tempted but they're both the same month. Besides I'm not comfortable learning my way around new towns, and I have halfway learned Forsyth. Is lilburn near Atlanta?

Fruitport, MI(Zone 5a)

Spider07,

I have a lot of snowball bushes that I will be digging up in the spring. You are welcome to as many as you would like. I'm not sure which variety that I have. The flowers are similar to hydrangea in size and shape. They start out white and fade to a pale green. This variety starts to flower mid summer and flowers last for weeks. They are not the bushy type. They have stems that grow more like perennial hibiscus. They only grow to about 4 foot tall. I can trim them down for shipping. I should warn you though, these do spread fast.

Kathy

Decatur, GA(Zone 7a)

Kathy, do you have pictures of them? They sound wonderful!

Lilburn, GA

Woodspirit, Lilburn is about 20 minutes away from Atlanta. Will you be going to this swap then? I will be there! I wish it was now...

Kathryn, yes, please!!!

Hi Pins!

Fruitport, MI(Zone 5a)

I'm sorry I don't have pictures. I couldn't find the exact variety in the plant files either. I definately will take pictures this summer. I'll keep looking for a picture on the web.

pins 2006, would you like some too? I have lots!

Woodbury, CT

I am very interested in some snowball bushes. I "googled" snowball bush and found some sites with pictures of 2 varieties. One is listed somewhere here in Dave's garden.
I would either pay postage or trade some shade lovers like dicentra, pulmonaria, 2 or so year old hellebore orientalis (pink). Thank you!

Fruitport, MI(Zone 5a)

I was reading on the web. It said that if you have a papery flower instead of berries at the end of the season, you don't have a viburnum. So I guess this is in the hydrangea family. This one looks quite similar the the one that I have. http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/651/index.html

Lent sending you Dmail

They do sound like Annabelles, don't they? How do they spread? My Annabelle doesn't spread at all. Do the flowers on your plant fall to the ground during a very heavy thunderstorm? Mine do every time, and they won't get back up, either. That's one of the reasons I'm really considering getting rid of my Annabelle. (Spider, want to come over and get it when I do?) It is a gorgeous bush, though.

Fruitport, MI(Zone 5a)

It is similar but I don't believe that's the one. I think the flowers on mine are a bit smaller. This one spreads by runners underground. Great if you want to fill in an area but a pest if you don't. I haven't lost any blossoms due to heavy storms. Some of the plants are partially protected by a tree near by. Many of the dried flowers will stay on the plant through the winter.

Decatur, GA(Zone 7a)

Yours sounds perfect. I would love to get a piece of your plant when you're ready. I have a perfect place for them if they can tolerate some shade. I'm excited! Let me know if you would like to trade or will postage be okay?

Fruitport, MI(Zone 5a)

Postage will be fine. I went to the post office today and found a priority mailer that's a perfect size to ship these. They are about 3 foot long triangle shaped. They are not so wide so if you want lots I will have to tape to boxes together. I have lots of these so you may have as many as you would like. I'd like to dig as soon as the ground thaws enough to remove without damaging the roots. I think these will ship better is they stay dormant.

Lilburn, GA

Well. it sounds great! Let me know whne you want the postageby Dmail.

Thanks again!

Decatur, GA(Zone 7a)

Thanks, Kathy! Just let me know when your ground thaws.

Fruitport, MI(Zone 5a)

I just checked the ground and it doesn't seem to be frozen. We are starting to get a little snow as I type though. I hope to get these out early so I can ship them in the dormant state. I think they will travel much better that way. I've never shipped these, so I couldn't even guess how much postage would be. I guess I'll send them on the honor system. You can send postage when you receive the plants.
I was at the post office today and found a triagle shaped box about 3 foot long. It's only 3-4 inches wide so I can tape two together for a larger box. I think I'll be able to find a wider box at work if you want lots. You may have as many as you like. I will dig the entire plant and trim to about 3 foot. I've tried trimming them to different lengths. If trimmed too short they may not flower the same year. Others have flowered, but later. How many would you like?

Decatur, GA(Zone 7a)

I would like 3-4 plants. Do you have a Paypal account? If so, I can send the money on the same day that you know what the postage is. If not, I will send a check.

Fruitport, MI(Zone 5a)

pins2006, A check will be fine. I don't have a paypal account. I let you know when I'm ready to ship.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Kathy, if you have a couple of extra, I would love to trade with you or send postage.

Fruitport, MI(Zone 5a)

Badseed, I have lots of these. What do you have to trade?

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Anna if you would like some green and variegated spider plants, Kalancho, and/or amaryliss bulb I could send some to you via someone from FLALA RU that is going to GaRU to save you shipping or can send mail for about 4 to 6 dollars depending on how much you want

Lilburn, GA

Please Donna, I woul dlove them. What is FLA RU and GaRU? you can send them the way is easier for you. i will be happy to pay for postage.

Kathyvm, I would like two o three plants, please. What should I do? Can you send me a Dmail with your address?

Thank you very much Donna and Kathy

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

There will be a plant swap on the Florida Alabama line before the Georgia plant swap and I could send your plants back with some of the Georgia people that are coming to the Florida swap. I saw where you said you were only 10 mile from Atlanta and might go to the swap. If you want them now I will be glad to ship them to you. Just let me know

Lilburn, GA

Hi Donna!

Hi ! I have just joined and see I have a lot to learn ! I have only 2 varieties of brugmansias and I have no idea what variety they are - but they are the very common yellow and white ones. I had no idea there were so many varieties ! If any of you live close to me please let me know, maybe you can teach this old "newbie" enough that I can ask intelligent questions !!!! I would love to get some new varieties.
