Can Brugmansias be grafted ? Has anyone tried here ?

Corte Madera, CA

is grafting similar to air-layering?

i've read that's done.

happy new year, tony.

Isn't air laying where you wrap a branch with a rooting medium, then a plastic bag over that. Roots appear and you then cut off the branch? Not sure, though

I believe someone here has grafted brugs before but can't remember who. Maybe someone else will remember.

I've heard several brug grafting success stories since around 1999 but oddly enough you never hear anything else about them after the initial success. Must be a problem with it of some kind along the way or we would have been seeing pics thru the years. I would think this would be kind of difficult due to the individual needs of each specific brug. Flowering habit, growth habit, nutritional needs. Even two brugs of the same name can act differently in the same growing environment.
