Kyle I have about 33 tropicals in my GH and they are constantly blooming. I have to water them about once a week. I'm not letting them go dormant. I am loosing leaves but they still look great.

My question is: By doing this will my hibiscus bloom this summer? Do they have to have to go dormant? I have read that they only will bloom on new growth. Or is that just for the tree and bush type? I plan on triming them up when I put them out next spring.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

Linda tropical hibiscus can go dormant, but don't NEED to.if they get warm temp, water, and bright light they will bloom year round.Cut the plants back 1/3 when you move them outdoors for summer and DO NOT move them outside till the night temps stay in at least the low 50's end of April in Iowa.
