packaging photos *how to*

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

Here is the box..Clearly labeled plants and which side is up! I thought that was a great idea! It also states the best temp to be kept at.
Also always ship priority, so our lil friends can get out of the dark as soon as possible!

The box was lined with insulation and insulation was placed over the top.
This helps with warmth and keeps them from bouncing about!

The plants had tissue wrapped around around the stem..slightly wet and they were taped up in cardboard.
Pardon the beer containers *laugh* I didn't pack this :)

Super duper pictures Lorry ! Thanks, now please throw that stuff away
as bugs and insects can be hiding in it. Don't re-use anything ever.
Except if it comes from me you know I used new clean products. lol
A big roll of insulation is about 9.00 to 12.00 and good for a lot of boxes. I use it for winter and hot, hot summer. I pack a little like them except I go a few steps further to make sure plants don't sweat over or under hear, don't crush and more...My plants are wrapped after plant/soil secured , wraped in a couple new paper towels then silpped int a large Styrofoam cup. If the plant is large I use two cups ! All plants stand up secure not to move or come out of pots, or cups :)) I always stress I use new clean packing material all the time. You never know what your sending your friends. Like I send yesterday I open my plants on white plastic trays and killed a tiny red spider. Yuk not good.
You can Not see problems when you get them. Please trust me a perfect looking healthy plant can have a lot wrong and you can lose your whole collection.
I also like how Bluebirds write on the outside of their boxes Help I need air and so on with plant pictures on box.
Keep in mind even though in USA we are not really supose to ship plants without a permit .... Florida is one of those States. D&P and Violet Gallery and Bluebird all put their regitration numbers sticker on their boxes as this is the law. So I don't write this one my box. I wirte nothing as lot's of time Fragile, keep thsi and that mean nothing to Postal workers. I have shipped hundreds and hundreds of boxes all over the world and 99.9 percent have all made it great !

Thanks. Sorry to sound crazy but better to throw away old stuff or one plant than a whole collection :))

I'm sure this link will edn up or is in Sticky but it's so important . Even in old Av books they say never trust anyones plants !

Please read..
WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR NEW PLANT

http://www.plantsonpurpose.com/CULTURE.htm#Streptocarpus

This is a photo of soil mealies floating in a container of water. Fount these guys in the reservoirs of a plant that I had owned for a year. Soil mealy bugs are so small, it is easy to have them and spread them throughout your collect before you know it. Even if your new plant looks 'clean', keep it on it's own reservoir for a year or two *** this is from story link abouve story and picture....********

**** So important please look
