CLOSED: Have: Rooted Ice Plant Cuttings for trade

Baytown, TX(Zone 9a)

This is the heart leaf variety with pink blooms. The attached photo is of the mother plant. I have 6 2" pots to trade. Will trade for almost anything!

Even though the plant files say hardy only to 30 degrees F, mine did survive our light snow last year.

Tombaak, I live in zone 5 also and I have ice plant. This one is hardy to zone 5. http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/1928/index.html
I did loose a couple last year though. We had a real wet spring and they didn't like it. Get back to me this spring and get one started for you.

amlcfarla, I really like your variety also. It would be great as a house plant. It's too cold to ship here though.

Kathy,
Would you like to trade your var. for mine this spring??

Sure I'd like that. Does your variety bloom all summer also?

Baytown, TX(Zone 9a)

Yes constantly. I have mine in full sun. I'll send you a dmail so I can remember to follow up this spring =)

Kathy,

Someone gave me a bit of the hardy one you posted. I only got it this last summer, and have been watching it closely. So far, so good. It really is pretty! Does it spread?

Melissa,

The ones that I have were in a 4" pots when I purchased them. Most of them spread to more than 12" wide by the 2nd year. I really like them too. They are constantly in flower and don't need much water.

Sounds like the perfect plant!

I have had really good luck with mine too, and I've considered them hardy. I was surprised to see the notes say only to 30 degrees, because it got much colder than that here last year and they survived fine. Of course, it was only for 2 days!! Not a long term cold.

Lynn, you have dmail too!

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Check this out. http://www.gardeninginarizona.com/Plants/Aizoaceae/Aptenia_cordifolia.html They say hardy to 23F. That sounds right to me too. I've been bringing mine inside when it gets too cold.

That sounds more right to me too, Siggy. Thanks for the link! I still have 4 plants to trade and am happy to wait until spring to complete the trade if needed. I'm just trying to find them good homes lol =)
