Companion plants for lavender

I'm looking for any suggestions for companion plants/shrubs for lavender for Zone 7a. Thank you for any ideas.

I have a "hedge" of L. grosso ('Fat Spike') along my driveway that is inter/underplanted with various english thymes... The green of the thymes really sets off the silvery color of the lavender.

Not that the thyme is exactly visible in this photo, but here's my lavender hedge....

Figured I should add that I really do like the 'Red Knockout' rose with the lavender (see bottom of photo). Also, later in the summer when the burgundy tiger lilies (down the center of the bed) start blooming, the lavender makes a lovely backdrop for them.

Don't just think about the lavender in bloom, think of how that wonderful silvery-green foliage will work in your landscape.

Thank you so very much for your ideas and the beautiful picture! I just took a deep breath and could smell the wondeful fragrance of your lavender. :-). Thanks again for your time and suggestions.

You're quite welcome. These plants have been in for 3 summers now, and they are really doing well. I'd already cut a couple armfuls of blooms when I took this photo, not that you could really tell. The fragrance was just amazing, too.... an all time favorite of mine, for sure!

I'll look forward to seeing some more responses on this thread.... I can't be the only one sitting around planning out new garden combos for spring!
