Well, we got about 6 inches of snow yesterday, so my gardening days seem far away. I've lurked around on this site for a while, enjoying the posts and decided this was a good time to jump in. I live in the country with 5 acres, of which about 2 1/2 have improvements on them. The rest is left to prairie grass and pheasant, rabbit and other pest habitat. I love all types of gardening and have several flower gardens, a small orchard and a fair sized vegetable garden. We are in zone 3b / 4 so are limited on some things with a short growing season, but spring, summer and fall are glorious as long as they last. I've been gardening most of my life and last year, became a certified master gardener. I do raise some of my own plants in an "in-garage" greenhouse arrangement. In the winter, I try to satisfy myself by keeping geraniums and such going in the garage and houseplants scattered around the house.
