brugmansia

Dripping Springs, TX(Zone 8b)

Just wondering if anyone knew some brugmansia varieties that would for sure come back after a winter here in Texas just outside of Austin as I would prefer to plant varieties that don't have to be kept in pots and overwintered inside etc etc etc thanks

I dunno but maybe you should also post this in the brug forum, another great DG forum.

BTW I have candida (a dbl white), frosty pink, jean pasco and maya planted inground, outdoors. This is my first year so it remains to be seen whether they will survive. So far, so good, have lost all leaves but trunks look good. Also have 4 brugs cuttings (now potted) that I received from a very lovely DGer. Left them potted for the winter but my plan is to grow inground, depending on how the first ones do.

tednugent,
Go to the PlantFiles. Most of the Brugmansias listed list the hardiness zone. This also my first year growing Brugmansias. I've had all my Brugs in pots this year. This coming spring, I plan to plant rooted cuttings in the ground of those varieties that are supposedly safe in the ground for our zone (I live about 15 miles northwest of La Grange.). I do have a few that are destined to spend their lives in pots.
