I'm certainly interested...with one stipulation - that I am actually able to learn how to propagate them. Sweet Allison is sending a box of AVs to me, so I know I'll have some great ones. I was also a second place winner in MsCritterKeeper's bird name Christmas contest, so I'll have some super goodies from her, too. I don't know if she'll be able to ship them to me in time to put down leaves for this swap, though. Hopefully the weather here will cooperate so she can.
So, I guess you could tenatively put me on the list, and if all goes well, I'd LOVE to participate. :o)

LOL you are on the list hun! NO worries.
A leaf packet is just sending someone leaves..This way if someone can't send a bunch of plantlets..they can send leaves to their bunny swapper :)

I am always lost on these thread too

All you have to do is cut two fresh clean leaves not old not new. Label a zip lock, or any new/clan lunch baggie . Neatly put the leaves into bag . ( blow it some oxygen ) seal it up. When packaging put them into a smaller box, I put them Styrofoam , sometimes in-between insulation, or I put all small bags into a larg zip lock bag. Most impotant make sure nothing in the box can move around and get damage. I am a fussy packer but I've been told except if the box got ran over by a Mactruck everything would be in good condtion ! Insulate in winter and summer, cold/heat. Newspaper, shredded paper, peanust, I buy thick insulation in the winter helps protect the leaves and plant.
When shipping a plant it must be secure also. I cut open one lunch baggie, roll it long way and stuff it pressing it lightly into soil around pot . I tape if needed. Then I take another bagging and slip the whole
pot into it then wrap the pot up good tape , eleastic band anyway to keep it tight closed to insure plant stays in pot and soil too. I then gently folding leaves up without breaking wrap the whole plant in a couple paper towels. The the plant is slipped into a large Styrofoam cup. Again I take a small baggie and cover top of cup little tape couple holes. I palce them in the box and secure everything with insulation, newspaper, peanut so nothing moves.. You'll see everything arrives safe and sound , most time no spilt dirt and maybe a blessing of a broken leaf or two you can put down for a new baby plant !

Raingazer, maybe since Ali doesn't have a camera, you can take some photos of them when they arrive. Show how they were packed etc. And post them here for us. Perhaps we can put together a tutorial for the sticky.

Critter where is the sticky thread ? I would write it up neater.

Where is everyone ??? Have you all started celebrating the New Year coming in already ? How many of you watch the ball drop ? I will like to if I can stay awake :))

I've missed the ball drop for the last 20 years! LOL I'm usually sawing logs or watching a movie. We're not much for NYE partying. It's just another day for us.

Either way, hoping everyone has a GRAND new year!

I'd be quite tickled to take pictures when I receive the box from Allison. Fact of the matter is, I'll need them to refer back to when I do packing of my own, because I may just forget! LOL Since my husband got a new digital camera for Christmas, I got the older one, so now I have one all the time. He always took it to work with him, so I only had my Palm to take pictures with, and it's not the greatest piece of photographic equipment. I'll start a new thread with those pictures in it when the times comes.

I have been busy all day today with planting up the little Jewels..You won't believe it but VERY few were doubles of things I have
BUT again There were many babies in many of the pots..

This is to post my name and I will send a dmail with my info. My avs are growing and starting to bloom. As soon as I learn how to take pictures with my new camera, I will post one. I have an av called Thunder Surprise that has a ton of blooms on it that should open soon. yea. : )

My dad died on Christmas eve, so I have not posted much. We just got back from Tennessee.

The trade sounds fun; I do have leaves down that have taken root, but no plants coming up yet.

HP--so sorry to hear such tragic news, especially so because of the holidays. My maternal grandmother passed away on Christmas Day so I know how difficult this can be. My prayers are with you and your family.
