Pycnospatha arietina Anyone have tips for growing ?

Just orderd a tuber of this one .. Wondering if anyone out there has experience? Does it have a regular dormancy? Can the tuber be stored dry ? Full sun? shade? Anything else ?

no dormancy should be grown year round. Damp soil warm temps look up Dracontium very very similar.

It can go dormant but usually for less than a month. I have not had any good luck keeping them dormant over the years. They need humidity or dry rot really fast. Best if it were to go dormant to keep it in the pot and keep the soild damp but not wet.

here is one growing at my friends collection. It is in flower bottom right side the leaves of one are on the left hand side. It would be considered a dracontium species if it had not been found on the other side of the world they look identical in just about all ways.

Wow thanks for the pictures.. I am sure I can give it what it wants if it can tolerate shade during the winter.. But in any case its an experiment .. and if it doesnt work out .. Ill just add it to the list of plants I cannot grow and have killed..Amorphophallus Titanum being at the top..
