Lorry I posted well wrote a long thing on Micro Minis lost it blanked out and puff it was gone and can't find your posting sorry. So here is a shorter version.
FC does not have a category for Micro Miniature. Now with trailers, size goes by the size of the leaf. So Teeny Bopper, Fruit Fly, Tiny Wood trail, Chantaspring are a few trailers that would be considered Microminiaturize trailers.
Then there are Miniatures, Semi-miniatures and standard trailers. I have had many miniature mature trailers with leaves that did not look mini and vise versa.
Now non-trailing .African violet plants ..Like Rob's Twinkle Pink and blue don't grow larger than 3 " and are microminiaturize.. So I would say a miniature of 3" or less could be considered a Microminiature. I love growing them in thumbprint pots, one inch , or 1 3/4 inch pots no larger .
A miniature plant is a plant at maturity is less than 6 inches across.
Semi-miniature 6-8 inches across.
A lot of people don't grow Miniatures as they are a little harder and take a little more work. But once you grow one you must have a hundred. lol
They do have Small Standards, standards and Large in First Class. . .
Non-trailing African violets are not measured by leaf size like trailers but their measuerment across and they have special hoops to slip them threw.
There are several miniatures that could be called Microminiature and trailers that are Microminiatures !
Just keep them in a one inch pot !
Optimara use to sell there little miniatures in one inch pots, now they come in 2 inch pots. .
Teeny Bopper for an example will have 200 hundred or more leaves in just a tiny two inch pot ! This Micro Miniature plant and others are not hard but not recommened for the novice. With patience and lots of tender care new growers can grow microminatures and Miniatures too !
Micro Miniatures
VT That is a gorgeous plant. I certainly understand your wish for her

Hmm I am such a novice that I don't even know for certain who I have that are minis and semini and what not.
Especially since some of my plants are young :)
This is why I can't wait to get FC in the mail :)

Also there are a lot of Miniatures I would consider Micro Miniatures. and many can be grown in one inch pots !
Misty Miss another miniature in FC they say foliage is tiny to me is a Micro Miniature.
I did a search of miniatures with tiny in the foliage and came up with
33 and I know there are more ! Optimaras do not put tiny in their foliage description. This is just ones with tiny in the foliage description.
I have some that seem to be micro in size also :) though hard to say since I have not hard many of the plants very long!
I talked to the gal at Selective. I am going to order the ever violets now.
She said I can order ALL their minis in the spring...She said she will just bill me accordingly. She also said if I send a list of ones I have now..they won't double over.
*hint hin on the Amuthyst* (laugh)
Oh and I have a few now that are still in 1 1/2 in pots. I never found 1 inch pots soooooo....don't have any in pots that size :)
I have Little Amethyst and Little Rhodonite: Optimara variety belonging to the Little Jewel series. Super miniature African Violet (1-inch pot size). Flowers are pink stars. Leaves are medium green. Introduced 1991. (AVSA Reg. No. 7494) More information.

They are more like one inch..
Oh, I am looking forward to trading minis with both of you this spring!! Every time Lorry or Allison posts about a mini (especially those girl leaf varieties or those lovely little jewel Optimaras), I think, oh! that one is on my wish list too!!
Sadly, my Twinkle Blue is officially lost, and unfortunately so is the only plantlet I managed to start from it.... but my Twinkle Pink from MsC is doing fine! Maybe The Violet Gallery will have Twinkle Blue this spring, or maybe somebody will place an order from Rob's....
I saw both on eBay today. Perhaps you could bid on it.
I'll wait for spring because of winter shipping considerations... but one way or another, I will add a Twinkle Blue to my shelf again, and hopefully this time I will have much better luck putting down leaves! :-)
Before Ebaying check on size of plant and what shipping is going to cost. I bought like 14 plants big size and 6 sets of leaves from Violet Gallery shipping only $11.00 :))
Someone is bound to have one to give you by Spring !
My bargain box did not make it here today :(( Now I can work on my plants some more I have so many babies to transplant and look forward to getting it tomorrow :))
