I am in the addy exchange Jean. Are you in North Tx? I'm about 30 miles off the coast near houston and we haven't had any rain in a really long time either... but we aren't quite as severe as up north.

I'm just NW of Ft Worth and the fires have been all around us. We're all ready at the drop of a hat to grab kids, animals, meds and run away. We are so dry the fires just move so fast you can't outrun them. I have about 200 iris potted up and I'd move them if there was a safe place - maybe where the fire has already burned everything. I was sick and couldn't get them in the ground - maybe a blessing - at least I can water them.
We just keep going on ...
