This plant is from Belize, the Stan Creek area.
It was found growing in a creek. The plants were about 2 ft high; leaves were about 7 inches long.
Any ideas? A Xanthosoma?
Thanks, ROX
If it is helpful I can also post images of the leaf and back of the leaf.
ID Please #2
I would say Xanthosoma Sagittifolia but then again more mature for a better ID.
Thanks. As it grows I may post again to confirm the ID.
Do these tend to multiply easily? Is it common in the trade or not?
If it isn't too common, I would like to share one (I have three) with someone would would enjoy and take care of it just in case I kill mine.
If it is common, I'll just enjoy it.

If it is Sagittifolia it is farily common in florida and is sometimes considered a weed. But what throws me off is how small you say it got. Their is a dwarf form but most sags get 6 to 10 feet tall.
Interesting. I'll keep an eye on it as it matures and let you know how tall it gets.
Any idea how long it usually takes to mature? I have had these for about 1 year now. I kept them in the greenhouse in pots from Dec. till May and then outside in pots from May till Oct. and back inside this winter. They haven't seemed too happy through. At most they have had 3 leaves at a time. Do you know what kind of conditions they prefer? I assumed moist with filtered light since I found it in a creek in dampled sunlight.
