they both teach you patience:-). I've had some hoyas rooting since October and are just now finally starting to root. Here is a picture of my Lambii that I have been trying to root since October, and now has roots. I was always so impatient when rooting hoyas, I wanted them rooted yesterday. Well just like children, my hoyas have taught me to be patient. Here are several more I've been trying to root since October and have finally rooted:
USDA 354329
sp. 'Philippinensis
2 Noids from Marcy
Padilla
Serrata
Schortechinii
So I guess the moral of this post is, don't give up on your rooting hoyas!
Blessings,
Awanda
Hoyas are like children
Congrats Awanda, and thanks for the reminder. I also had a few that were so incredibly slow to root the past few months, and then even slower to show new growth. Patience has finally showed me it was well worth the wait. Of all the cuttings I got in 2005, only H.Tomsonii took more than two months to root, and then with only two small roots, I plunked it in a pot, where it took another two months (I noticed yesterday!) to show any new growth. Well worth the wait.
Happy Holidays
Christine
I find things (not only hoyas but other plants as well) incredibly slow to root or even grow this time of year. I live in a warm climate and have plants in the house under lights so you would think they would not mind the season changes so much, but noooo. They stop much growth, they are stuborn to root, and some of them even go so far as to DIE on me. Humph!
I am a bit more neglegtful this time of year...but geeze...you would think they could forgive me. Ha.

It's weird, just over the past month, my hoyas all must have got a memo telling them to slow down!
