Ok I pulled some suckers today! Woohooo.
I think I finally got this down....the idea always scared me! It just seemed like I was pulling part of the plant off!
Well anyhow I got some of emerald lover, super duper, sheer peach, heat wave, appalachian trail, definitely darryl :)
So if my leaves don't grow *LOL* at least I have these to share!
Suckers!
Good job Lorry bet it was loads of fun ! Lorry appalachian trail is a trailer and you want them to grow suckers and trail ! It's ok it will trail some more and you'll have a new plant also. :)) Allison
It's good to take crown cuttings from trailers, though, as that lets light in so more little suckers develop into trailing "branches." The crown cutting I took from my 'Allegro Appalachian Trail' is doing really well! Check it out here, http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/554832/
You'll love Allegro Appalachian Trail. The leaves are beautiful and you can't beat the fantasy blooms.
Allegro Appalachian Trail is gorgeous I still have a couple left ! It's good to take the suckers off if you want . But it's also good to know trailers are supose to have more than one crown. Three from the same branch to show or more and all must be blooming. Though you may not be showing , or grooming it's just nice for newbies to know trailers should have more than one crown !!! People can also grow other plants with extra suckers if this is what they like. I read in this AV book said if you like more than one crown don't let anyone tell you you don't. lol :))
Now I take extra crowns off Reg. Av's I like growing this way. But more
or my trailers that I keep to grow large are grown in Pan Pot and I let them have as many crowns as they can give me :)) All my trailers that I have had trail well for me . Now if it is a rare trailer, like a Chimera trailer I will take some crowns off :))
I just remeber Lorry said she did not know which of her plants were trailers . This way she can know trailers are great with lots of crowns ! More crowns more blossoms !
Have Fun !
