We had a light dusting of snow in St. John's last night. I guess we will have a white Christmas after all....it seemed doubtful for a while. Mind you, we are suppose to be rain and 10 C on Boxing Day so I guess it will be all gone again then. Meanwhile, the snow made the garden especially beautiful this morning so I took a few pics. Thought I share some. This is a Japanese White Pine.
Winter garden
Great winter pics, Todd. The top of the teasle looks like white candy floss and I've never seen a rose hip quite so close up before....look at those fine hairs at the bottom. Cool!
Sandy
We are having rain here in Mississauga and it's a dreary day, the snow looking grey and spent.
However, that means that the roads are clear for people to travel to their Christmas destinations.
Lovely Christmas pictures Todd, especially the rose hip.
I see that it is 800 x 1,067. Is there any limit on size here on DG?
Merry Christmas
Joan
There is a size limit...I have to reduce my pics by half the normal size if I want to upload them.
Joan, you mild weather is heading my way...suppose to be rain and 5 C for Boxing Day and the next, so our 5 cm of snow will be gone again...at least it will be white for Christmas Day.
Tood, are they automatically resized? and what is the limit?
Thank you
Joan
Joan, I use iPhoto Plus to resize my pics immediately after I download them from my camera. My camera is 8 mp so I reduce the original pic by 50%. I'm not sure the actual size that is the upper limit for DG. But at 50%, most of my pics are manageable by DG. Mind you, DG also makes these pics smaller once they get uploaded. To be sure, why not ask Dave himself for the maximum size on the Dave's garden forum.
Oh, what wonderful caption of the rose hip in winter.........E
Todd
Super photo's and great snow. I especially like the Teasel seed head! We don't have any snow and it's funny to say but I'm missing it. We are all brown and dreary.
I have sent my photo's straight from my camera and I've got a 5 mp. I haven't checked to see if DG made them smaller but they did take them.
Cheers
Ann
If it's any consolation Ann, our snow is also all gone now...grey and dreary is the weather, but our lawns are still green! More rain for this weekend so 2006 will start off with no snow on the ground. At least it's one less month of winter! I can take winters like this...minimal shovelling.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful photos with us Todd. You have an eye (and the camera;) for bringing out winter's pristine beauty. Ü
We managed to have a white Christmas here but with above zero temps it sure is disappearing fast.
Thank You, Todd. How uplifting for year's end!
