Anubius

I think this is Anubius frazerii but not exactly sure. I have several species growing together in one pond and they have formed such a thick root system that their pots are grown together and stuck to the bottom of the pond. Such a lovely Aquatic aroid.

Very pretty, is it winter hardy?

Louisville, KY

Very nice Michael I would have thought hastifolia I have a few odd forms. Their is a fellow I talked to who runs a aquarium shop getting plants straight out of a nursery in the Congo out of Africa.

As far as hardiness goes these babys like it hot. I doubt most well grow in south Florida?

here is a odd triparted leaf form. This was at Fairchild gardens years ago. I got the same species out of the congo through the fellow I was talking about.

Brian, It might be hastifolia, i have one labeled barterii but it has the same distinctive leaves as hastifolia, so they may have been misslabled. Are you still growing any of these in those crystals?

Louisville, KY

no they never did do very well in that I am not sure what the problem was. I believe like most aquatic aroids the best bet is to have them in a tray of warm moving water. I am groing what looks to be about 6 to 7 species but this may be wrong its hard to ID them with just leaves as some can have very different looking leaves and yet still be the same species. Their are a few experts out their. I talked to a guy out of germany about a few he IDed for me. His english was a bit hard to understand but his IDs should be solid. Langendra is another group I would like to work on a bit more. I have a lot of work to still do in the greenhouses. Try to set up places for growing thing to their best. So cant buy much till my new areas are up and running good.
