Isn't this the craziest thing you've ever heard. The owners decided to have their Fox Terrier "put down" to end her misery. The vet faked the death with the poor man in the room, then checked her heart at the request of the man and pronounced her dead. The vet tech who had cared for her was off that day, upon returning to work recognized the dog in a pen with a different name, up for adoption. She told the vet she wanted to adopt her, took her to another vet telling the complete story and was advised the dog should be returned to it's owners.
I surely hope people see the importance of getting a second opinion in regard to the health of their beloved furry friends before they decide to "put it down". Though she still is not completely well, Buttons' health has improved thanks to a special no-fat diet prescribed by a new veterinarian.
